“Goodnight Nomad” is a personal travel blog dedicated to my current travels in South Asia (particularly India) during the winter/spring of 2013. This blog will chronicle my day-to-day journey (discipline to write permitting!). Occasionally, it will feature pictures or videos, but is intended to be a travel journal.
My name is Jeffrey Lauer. I am a second year graduate student at Ball State University. My work engages Urban Development, Social-Space, Development Studies and Cultural Anthropology. My current work is focused in Ahmedabad, India. I am currently working on my thesis which tells the story of the first riverfront redevelopment project in India, called the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project located in Ahmedabad. Don’t be surprised if some of these writings sneak their way into a blog post here or there…
My first visit to India was in the winter/spring of 2011 during a study abroad called CapAsiaVI through Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning. Ever since I have had an attraction to India which is both academic and personal, but has thus far been a challenge to articulate. I am hoping this blog will help with that. Enjoy! (and if not, don’t bother asking for a refund because the return policy already expired).
